Mothers who are incarcerated, their children and their children’s caregivers submitted artwork, poetry, letters and essays to create this soulful book. Their creative contributions describe their experiences, the impacts of incarceration on their relationships and the importance of visitation. The aim of the project is to bring a human face to this forgotten population and provide the community with a more accurate picture of what parenting from the inside looks like in an effort to build more support for maintaining these family relationships while the parent is incarcerated.
