Marisa Moon

Marisa Moon, MSW, has been working with young children and families since 1998 in a variety of roles. Marisa was an Early Childhood Educator at NAEYC accredited programs in Las Vegas, NV and Portland, OR as well as a Montessori preschool in England. Marisa worked with youth in foster care living in residential facilities, and provided assessments and case management for youth in drug and alcohol treatment program. Marisa serves on committees dedicated to reducing disproportionality in child welfare and is part of a collaborative response to improve outcomes for child welfare involved families who access domestic violence services. Marisa is a member of the Trauma Informed Care Learning Community in Multnomah County. Marisa uses Child-Parent Psychotherapy with families who have been exposed to trauma, particularly child abuse and neglect and domestic violence. Marisa uses attachment theory when working with families and believes that parenting from the inside of a prison is enhanced by regular interactions with their children.

Meredith Olson

Meredith Olson has invested over a decade engaging in human rights and social justice work. She received her Masters in Social Work, with an emphasis on Community-Based Practices, from Portland State University and her Bachelors of Arts in Cultural and Historical Studies from Marylhurst University. An avid writer and researcher, Meredith has presented academic papers at many conferences including, the Lewis and Clark Gender Studies Symposium and the Association for the Study of Law, Culture and the Humanities. She has an extensive background in advocacy work and activism, spending much of her free time volunteering for community projects and marginalized individuals. In recognition of her work, Meredith was awarded the 2010 Judge Herrell Award for exceptional service as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate in Washington County. Presently, Meredith facilitates change processes with men who are incarcerated in the Oregon Department of Corrections.
